Why Your Brand Isn’t Attracting the Right Audience

If you’re not getting the types of customers that you want, it may be because your branding looks homemade.

Before you close your browser in a defensive rage, read (and implement) these tips that promise to keep your brand on point:

1) Use proper punctuation. If you’re not asking a question, don’t use a question mark.

2) Double-check your spelling. Nothing makes you look worse than a post or graphic full of obvious errors. It looks like you did it yourself and rushed, or you don’t know the rules of the English language. (I’d expect that if English wasn’t your first language. In that case, you should hire a professional graphic designer or editor who’s proven good use of the English language.)

3) Use text colors that contrast with your background. What’s the point of your graphic if no one can read it? If you can’t make out the words, neither can we. (Take this approach on your website, too!) It’s best to have a darker background if you’re using text in lighter colors.

4) Try limiting your fonts to no more than 3, especially if there isn’t much text. Having a bunch of different fonts works against the cohesion that should exist on your graphic.

5) In reels and other videos, proofread your captions before posting. Many times, the AI software will misunderstand what you’re saying, especially if you’re using slang or have somewhat of an accent.

If you need help with any of these, then you're ready for a 1-hour consultation with me. Let's buff the polish on your brand.
