Slow Down for the Win

It's been a while since you've heard from me, but I'm still here, grateful for every opportunity to buff out a shine on small businesses whenever I can.

I'm so proud of my clients, and if you've been following my Instagram or Facebook pages, you know they've been killing the game in the self-care, finance and other industries. The way I see it, when one of us wins, it's a win for us all because we have proof that it can be done!

Whatever you're attempting in business this month, just remember that everyone makes mistakes, but we don't have to let our mistakes bury us.

Here's what happens: We have a huge win, and we want to share it with our dedicated customers, clients and followers on social media, so we just throw it up. Now, instead of a Steph Curry three-pointer, we toss up a big, fat brick because we rushed.

Thanks to those fast breaks, we wind up with spelling errors, awkward sentences and embarrassing grammar mistakes that threaten the shine on our brands. I don't know about you, but I've worked too hard to let a typo hold me back.

Hold you back? Yes, hold me back from reaching the goals I've set for my brand and my career. Potential customers, clients and investors want to be associated with professional brands - they want to know those brands are serious about what they offer, and care about how they're viewed.

So, how are you showing up on social media? ...on your website? ...in your newsletters?

To get the clients and customers we want, we have to keep that shine on our brands, so here are some tips to keep us glowing:

1. Proofread your posts before pushing them through. Make any necessary edits at that time.

2. Re-read your posts after they go up.

3. Edit your posts again, if you notice errors.

To avoid all of that, you can plan your posts. But, if you have news that should be shared sooner rather than later, just breathe, take your time, and sink that three to keep your brand winning.
